The base branch was a left-over from the original personal setup.

Additionally, we remove the assignee for now.

This config was for the previous repository structure and now main is the default base branch.

The docs do not mention the possibility to assign mulitple users, except for gitlab enterprise. For now this should be fine without an assignment.
Maybe we can experiment with this later on.
